Philips Entertainment SL PAR 155

slpar155The Philips Entertainment SL PAR 155 ZOOM is a flexible LED wash light that seamlessly replaces conventional Fresnels & PARs.  This rugged, die-cast aluminum luminaire uses calibrated, homogenized RGBW LEDs to produce over 3200 lumens of bright, beautiful light.  Integrated zoom optics provide a smooth beam variable from 8° to 40°… without cumbersome lens changes.  The intuitive, split yoke bracket allows for quick and easy placement of the SL PAR 155 overhead or on the floor.

LED Theatrical Lighting fixtures use a variety of color mixing systems to match the colors used in “conventional” stage lighting.  Some use four colors of LED, some use seven.  Some use RGBA, some use RGBW, and some use a combination of primary and secondary colors…there is even one with a “twist of lime”.  All of these systems have different strengths and weaknesses, and all of them are the subject of much debate (mostly between salesmen and anyone they can get to listen).

Our recommendation?  Don’t give in to the hype.

Altman Pegasus LED Fresnels

Pegasus FresnelsThe Altman Pegasus 6” and 8″ LED Fresnels featuring the same warm, soft, controllable white light as conventional Fresnel Spotlights.

A True LED Fresnel

Pegasus looks like a Fresnel because it is a Fresnel.  No more cumbersome lens changes, no more edges that cannot be cut…just high quality, controllable, soft-edged, light.   Using less than 150 Watts, the Pegasus 6 is a replacement for conventional 500w fresnels while the Pegasus 8 outperforms it’s 750w incandescent counterpart.  Pegasus offers excellent output and color using traditional color filters such as Roscolux, Lee Filters, or GamColor.

Just starting the move to LED’s?  No problem.  Pegasus plugs right into your existing SCR or IGBT dimmers.  Moving to DMX-per-fixture control? Registration is now open Strand Lighting NEO Console Training at Parlights!Fall 2015 NEO Training Post Pic

Philips Entertainment/ Strand Lighting’s Bobby Harrell returns to teach the basics of the new NEO console with hands on training at Parlights.

  • Thursday, October 1 2015 from 10am to 4pm
  • Classes will be taught at Parlights new facility on Bowmans Farm Road
  • There is no charge for the training, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Learn the basics of NEO’s intuitive interface

Starting with “Here is the ON button”, these hands on sessions will cover…

    • Hybrid Tracking – a new way to work
    • Setting up NEO to work for you
    • What happened to saving a show?
    • Turning on a light
    • Submasters and Cues and Groups, oh my!
    • Patching and controlling LEDs and automated lighting

Both classes will be held at our NEW shop location, 10-4, and are open to teachers, students, administrators, designers and others using or considering a Strand Lighting NEO Console.

Admission is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.  We have a limited number of consoles, so both classes are BYOB–bring your own board–where possible.

Rosco V-Hazer Haze Machine

Rosco V-Hazer Fog MachineThe Rosco V-Hazer is a quiet and reliable haze machine that utilizes innovative, internal baffles to maximize airflow and  generate greater output and thorough dispersion of fog particles.  The resulting haze spreads consistently and smoothly throughout the venue.  V-Hazer’s blower automatically turns off when not in-use to ensure the quietest operation possible.

The V-Hazer shares the same remote with the Vapour and Vapour Plus. Fan and pump speed are synchronized to the output potentiometer and have been optimized to create a superior haze effect when controlled via the detachable remote. Independent control of fan speed and pump volume is available via two channels of DMX, which allows the user to dial in their perfect balance of fast haze time and even distribution from their lighting console.

V-Hazer Fluid is available specifically for this machine. Modeled on Rosco’s Academy-Award® winning fog fluid formulation, this water-based haze fluid achieves maximum hang time and optimal particle size without leaving behind dangerous and damaging residue common to oil or glycerin based hazers.
