SL PAR DEMO BUTTONA word about color…

LED Theatrical Lighting fixtures use a variety of color mixing systems to match the colors used in “conventional” stage lighting.  Some use four colors of LED, some use seven.  Some use RGBA, some use RGBW, and some use a combination of primary and secondary colors…there is even one with a “twist of lime”.  All of these systems have different strengths and weaknesses, and all of them are the subject of much debate (mostly between salesmen and anyone they can get to listen).

Our recommendation?  Don’t give in to the hype.
We think that you are smart enough to make your own choice.
See for yourself, use your eyes, and decide what works best for your application in your space lighting actual people.

(we’ll even show you the twist of lime!)

Basic Stage Makeup Workshop 2015

Registration now Open!

Fall 2015 Makeup Post PicParlights is proud to present a Theatrical Makeup Seminar by Professional Makeup Artist Roger Riggle September 12, 2015.  Pre-Registration is required for this popular workshop, and space is limited, so reserve your spot today!

      • Saturday September 12, 1-5 pm
      • Performing Arts Factory 244 S. Jefferson Street, in Frederick MD
      • Features Washington based makeup artist Roger Riggle.
      • Fee-  $75 before 7/1/15,  $90 after 7/1.

Hands on Training

This year’s session will be an afternoon packed with makeup techniques, tips and tricks.  This session is perfect for teachers, community theatre groups and beginning drama students!  Demonstrating on a model, Roger starts with the absolute basics and works to the completed stage face.  Students map a design on paper, and then apply it to their model.  Roger offers help and answers questions as they work.

With mastery of basic techniques under their belt, the class watches a demo on old age techniques–veins, hand, wrinkles, age spots, etc–and applies what they have learned to their models under the watchful eye of a professional artist.  By the end of the class it will appear that our models have aged 75 years, and the artists will have gained knowledge, experience, and confidence.

Each participant will bring another person to be their model.  Models do not apply makeup, simply sit to be “made up”.  Photo releases will be required for participants.  Each student will receive a packet of supplies to take home.  Register early — last year’s class sold out quickly!
