Strand Lighting Palette Console Training

Philips Entertainment/ Strand Lighting’s Bobby Harrell returns to teach the basics of Palette with hands on training at Parlights.

  • Friday, October 2 2015 from 10am to 4pm
  • Classes will be taught at Parlights new facility on Bowmans Farm Road
  • There is no charge for the training, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Starting with “Here is the ON button”, these hands on sessions will cover…

  • Turning on a light
  • Submasters and Cues and Groups, oh my!
  • Patching and controlling LEDs and automated lighting
  • Special FX
  • Programming tips and tricks.

 

We’ll supply the pizza!

Both classes will be held at our NEW shop location, 10-4, and are open to teachers, students, administrators, designers and others using or considering a Strand Lighting Palette, LightPalette, or Palette PC Console.

Admission is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.  We have a limited number of consoles, so both classes are BYOB–bring your own board–where possible.

Often, a single replacement part will fix a lighting control system.  The problem?  Parts for older systems are hard to find.  Not to worry!  Parlights maintains an inventory of new and refurbished parts to support a variety of systems, including those manufactured by Strand Lighting, Electronics Diversified (EDI), and Entertainment Technology.

In many cases, the part that you need is on the shelf, ready to go.

Parlights installs upgrades.

Parlights offers upgrade options that are a fraction of the cost of replacing your controls.  Don’t worry – if your system isn’t a good candidate for repair or upgrade, Parlights will recommend a suitable replacement instead.

Strand Lighting has introduced a compact LED fixture perfect for the studio or on location. Studio Panel operates on AC or DC power pulling only 50 watts! Location operation through industry standard batteries is built in. This unit will provide a soft, even wash at 19 degrees with diffusion lenses for 40 and 60 degrees. An optional barndoor set simply snaps on to the unit. Whether you have a studio set to light or a simple location interview, the Studio Panel LED is the right choice. House and work lights are going green! LED lighting fixtures have now reached the price point and dimming capability that tips the scale in favor of using them over traditional sources such as incandescent and hard to dim fluorescent fixtures. The very low maintenance associated with LED fixtures is reducing labor costs as well as energy usage and carbon footprint. In fact, an installed high quality LED fixture may not need any maintenance for 5 to 10 years other than the occasional dusting of the reflector that all fixtures require . LED fixtures are available for both new construction and retrofit applications. Fixtures with on board DMX control do not require additional dimmers! This entire rig is running on three 20 amp circuits, and that include a few tungsten units as well! LED wash units, hard edge profiles, and a new CYC!
