chalice-led-downlight-3-colorsThe Altman Chalice 100W LED Downlight Pendant is a 100W LED architectural down light designed for permanent installation and energy savings.  Integration into an existing control system is easy with the simple three button DMX addressing locates at the top of the fixture:  set it once and enjoy a smoothly integrated and energy efficient illumination solution for your area of choice.

The Chalice may be controlled by your lighting console, architectural control system or both. It is  also available as a mains dimmable fixture for those facilities without a DMX control system, or for easy retrofit to a current installation for energy savings.

Altman Pegasus LED Fresnels

Pegasus FresnelsThe Altman Pegasus 6” and 8″ LED Fresnels featuring the same warm, soft, controllable white light as conventional Fresnel Spotlights.

A True LED Fresnel

Pegasus looks like a Fresnel because it is a Fresnel.  No more cumbersome lens changes, no more edges that cannot be cut…just high quality, controllable, soft-edged, light.   Using less than 150 Watts, the Pegasus 6 is a replacement for conventional 500w fresnels while the Pegasus 8 outperforms it’s 750w incandescent counterpart.  Pegasus offers excellent output and color using traditional color filters such as Roscolux, Lee Filters, or GamColor.

Easy to Install, Easy to Use

Just starting the move to LED’s?  No problem.  Pegasus plugs right into your existing SCR or IGBT dimmers.  Moving to DMX-per-fixture control? Pegasus also operates on constant or switched power with high resolution DMX dimming control.  Need to shutter the light off the curtains?  Pegasus uses the same barndoors, color frames, and accessories as its traditional cousins..  Tired of constantly changing lamps?  Pegasus features a high efficiency 50,000 hour LED source.

Pathway Cognito Console Training

Fall 2015 Cognito Training Post PicRegistration is now open for Pathway Cognito Console Training at Parlights!

Parlights own Walt Dowling will teach the basics of  Cognito with hands on training.

  • Thursday, September 10 2015 from 10am to 4pm
  • Classes will be taught at Parlights new facility on Bowmans Farm Road
  • There is no charge for the training, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Cognito presents a new and completely intuitive approach to programming conventional lights, LEDs and moving lights.  The command line is gone, and now four simple actions:  Select, Control, Record and Play, will have you confidently controlling your lights in no time.   This class is perfect for lighting designers, teachers, students, facility managers, community theatre members as well as those who just want to see what the excitement is all about.

Philips Entertainment/ Strand Lighting’s Bobby Harrell returns to teach the basics of Palette with hands on training at Parlights.

  • Friday, October 2 2015 from 10am to 4pm
  • Classes will be taught at Parlights new facility on Bowmans Farm Road
  • There is no charge for the training, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Starting with “Here is the ON button”, these hands on sessions will cover…

  • Turning on a light
  • Submasters and Cues and Groups, oh my!
  • Patching and controlling LEDs and automated lighting
  • Special FX
  • Programming tips and tricks.

In the House Light that is…

 

House and work lights are going green! LED lighting fixtures have now reached the price point and dimming capability that tips the scale in favor of using them over traditional sources such as incandescent and hard to dim fluorescent fixtures. The very low maintenance associated with LED fixtures is reducing labor costs as well as energy usage and carbon footprint. In fact, an installed high quality LED fixture may not need any maintenance for 5 to 10 years other than the occasional dusting of the reflector that all fixtures require . LED fixtures are available for both new construction and retrofit applications. Fixtures with on board DMX control do not require additional dimmers!
